Update on Cemetery Operations in Tyngsborough

Effective July 1, 2025, residents & funeral homes will notice changes in the way they interact with the Tyngsborough Cemeteries.

Tyngsborough Announcements Posted on July 01, 2025

In October 2022, Town Meeting approved a home rule petition formally establishing a Department of Public Works in Tyngsborough. That home rule petition was adopted by the legislature and signed into law by Governor Healey in April 2024.

Among other things, the Act disbanded the Cemetery Commission and placed the authority for maintaining and operating the public cemeteries in Tyngsborough within the newly established Department of Public Works. Over the last year, the Town has been fortunate that former Cemetery Commissioner Doug Latulippe graciously continued to manage the Cemetery as we planned for this transition. As of July 1, the role has formally transitioned to the Cemetery Division of the DPW.

To view available graves or to purchase a grave, please visit the Cemetery page on the Town website. We have transitioned to an online process. For questions or inquiries about the sale of deeds, please contact the Office of the Town Clerk by calling 978-649-2300 x129 or by emailing clerk@tyngsboroughma.gov.

To coordinate an interment or discuss cemetery maintenance, please contact the Cemetery Division of the DPW by calling 978-835-5244. Please note that the Cemetery Coordinator position remains a part-time position and, as such, you might not reach someone after normal business hours. Please leave a message and someone will get back to you.
